Terveystalo's Nina Salmela selected as the educator doctor for occupational health care in 2024

Since 2010, a national seminar for doctors specialising in occupational health care has selected the educator doctor of the year. This year, the award went to Nina Salmela from Terveystalo, who has been working as an occupational health physician trainer for almost 11 years.

In the selection criteria, the specialist occupational health physicians praised Ms Salmela as an active and inspiring trainer who is easy to approach. He also ensures the professional and mental growth of young doctors in particular, preventing fatigue and improving the quality of their work.

As an active trainer herself, Nina Salmela keeps her knowledge up to date and is therefore well informed about new developments in occupational health and medicine and is able to raise good topics for discussion. The guidance is well planned and covers a wide range of issues needed in the workplace, which makes it easier for the specialists to do their daily work and build up their skills, including preparing in advance according to the subject matter of the guidance.

Like the specialised doctors, colleagues consider positivity and a sense of humour to be one of the assets of the 2024 trainer.

I am very happy and honoured by this recognition: it is a pleasure to work with good people and to be with them on the path of specialisation in occupational health. It's a path that I'm learning myself as well, when you have to keep your own knowledge up to date," says Salmela.
