Clarifications on the content of sickness absence certificates
Since 28.8.2024, sickness absence certificates have had the option to select the purpose of the certificate at a more detailed level and to indicate whether it is a partial sickness allowance, an infectious disease allowance or a (organ) donation allowance instead of a sick leave allowance. Previously, these were all indicated on the sickness absence certificate as "Other".
- For partial sickness allowance, the certificate now also includes a date range, which will allow employers to report partial sickness days more accurately in the future.
- For the certificate for infectious disease daily allowance, date ranges for absence from work, quarantine and isolation will be specified more accurately in the future.
It should be noted that certificates for partial daily sickness allowance, daily infectious disease allowance or (organ) donation allowance have not previously been included in occupational health sickness absence reporting or work risk monitoring for absence monitoring and will not be included in reporting or monitoring views as a result of the refinement. The reporting functionality related to partial sickness allowance and sickness allowance for communicable diseases will be developed as data becomes available and we will announce the release of this functionality separately.
