As of June 1 also customers with respiratory symptoms can visit our regular clinics
In the spring of 2020, Terveystalo set up flu clinics for the needs of the sudden COVID-19 pandemic. After changes in the COVID situation and authorities’ guidelines, Terveystalo is now discontinuing the flu clinics and treating customers with respiratory symptoms at all of our clinics starting Wednesday, June 1, 2022. However, patients suspecting a COVID infection or patients with COVID with symptoms starting 0-5 days ago are directed to use our remote channels, in other words our chat, video or telephone appointments.
Laboratory samples related to respiratory symptoms are still taken in separate facilities. In addition, we will continue offering COVID tests as a drive-in service and at certain clinics. Up-to-date information on COVID testing stations can still be found in the same place as before on our website.
If your employee has tested positive for COVID, we can use selected remote services in certain special cases to ensure safety, even if our remote services are not included in your occupational healthcare agreement. This exceptional policy was set up to protect our customers and employees.
- A positive COVID test result confirmed in a laboratory means that the person receives an infectious disease allowance certificate from the start date of the symptoms through a remote channel. If the symptoms persist after 5 days, the employee can book an appointment at one of our clinics so that the need to continue their sickness absence can be assessed.
- A positive result from a COVID home test does not entitle the employee to an infectious disease allowance. We will assess the employee’s work ability over a video connection and provide a sickness absence certificate according to their state of health. We will see the patient at one of our clinics 5 days after the symptoms have started, if necessary.
By discontinuing the flu clinics, we will be able to better serve our customers who increasingly need our services other than those related to COVID-19. This also enables us to tend to the health of our personnel more equally. Our decision complies with the main principles of the Government’s hybrid strategy created to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, according to which the key ways for preventing COVID infections are responsible and safe actions of individuals, vaccinations and only the most essential and limited regulatory measures.
Change to the previously agreed operating model does not requite action from our customers
The new operating model will be implemented June 1, 2022 and its approval does not require action from our customers. If you do not wish to enable your personnel to use the remote channels in the exceptional cases mentioned above, please let our corporate customer service know as soon as possible. Please note that if you prevent the use of the new operating model, we will direct the aforementioned customers to use public health care services if they have had the first symptoms of suspected or confirmed Covid-19 starting 0-5 days ago.
The safety of our customers and personnel comes first
Protection against COVID-19 remains a top priority. In addition to vaccinations, it is extremely important to follow hygienic guidelines. We recommend that our customers wear a surgical face mask in all of our facilities and require any customers with respiratory symptoms to wear a face mask in our facilities. At our clinics, the personnel wear either a surgical face mask or an FFP2 mask, depending on the situation. Hand sanitizer is also available in all of our customer facilities and we recommend using it to help prevent viruses from spreading. If a customer has respiratory symptoms, it is extremely important to sneeze or cough into their sleeve.
We have taken the safety of our customers and personnel as well as authorities’ guidelines into account in restoring the activities of our clinics to the level preceding the pandemic.
As the pandemic has already changed its shape several times, we continue monitoring the situation closely and adjust our activities according to the prevailing circumstances. We will inform our customers of any changes.
